Cotton Fields to Nashville: A Plush Records presentation as,
"A Songwriters Tribute To;
Johnny Cash".   Following previous
tribute projects such as "
The Buckeroo Band" a tribute to Buck
Owens and "
The Waylors", A Songwriters Tribute To Waylon
Jennings,  "
Cotton Fields To Nashville" allows us to hear the
respect the songwriters have for his legendary career.
With over two thousand submissions, eleven songs were chosen
providing a diverse look at the unique character of
Johnny Cash.
The title song on the tribute was written by
Larry Morris, a truck
driver from Campbell Missouri
.
Morris,  submitted his song to "Plush Records" at Nashville, Tenn.
and the album was recorded at "The Recording Studio",  and
released internationally by "Plush Records."
"I am pretty happy about it," Morris said. "So far my song is the
number one pick on the album."
He added that the album was set to be released November 2009,
and looking forward to it's debut
Morris noted that he had been writing songs professionally since
2001 and usually writes about relationships.
"When I get something in my head I go ahead and write it," Morris
said.
The song "Cotton Fields to Nashville," was written about Johnny
Cash's life, according to Morris.
"After I finish a song, I can't believe that I have created it," Morris
said.
Morris became a published songwriter in December of 2008 and
has since had six songs entered into his publishing catalog. One
of these songs, "This Love Thang," has been submitted to
country-music star Keith Urban for his upcoming album.
"If I Had One More Day," and "Can't Judge a Book by its Cover,"
were recently recorded by
Clinton Gregory. Who also had the
national hit "If It Weren't For Country Music I'd Go Crazy."
"Cotton Fields to Nashville," along with the entire "Songwriters
Tribute to Johnny Cash," album will be recorded by the imitative
voices of, "
John Thomas Conly" of Nashville Tn.
"I was always told if you keep on trying, something will happen,"
Morris said. "I never gave up on it."
